My Dad was MMoM Joe Kaufmann, and served on the USS RAMSDEN (DE382)from 12 May 45 to 18 March 46. He and Mary had 5 children. He died in 1995. He left a small stash of memorabilia from his USCG career. We 5 children have decided to place the RAMSDEN-related materials with the growing DE museum ship, USS SLATER, in Albany, NY. We plan to present these materials to the museum on 17 MAY 2002 around 10:00 AM. We would invite any of his RAMSDEN shipmates to join us. Some grandchildren will be present, also.
