I served on the Lee Fox, DE 65, APD 45 as a RDM 3/c from 10/13/1944 until 1/1/22/1946. I am 92 years old and have just completed my book about my experiences and our ships travels while aboard. My book is entitled "Memiors of a World War ll Destroyer Escort Sailor."

I am blessed with good health and still make several 1,000 mile trips alone each year.

Hello my name is Steve Genslinger. I served with iuw-2 from 1964 to 1966. I worked with the CB's in the garage. I have been trying to locate people that served with me. There was a chief Wills, stephan Brock, Woods. That's about all I can remember for now. Is there a place to go on the net to find a rooster of the sailors that was there? I had the chance to go by there about 25 years ago and it didn't look as if it was still going. I know all the stock pile of big round buoys were gone. Do you know if it has been closed down? Maybe you can help me

I was on a sister ship, USS Ira Jeffery DE 63, in the Atlantic for 18 months and DE 65 was a part of our escort group Escort Division 12. I suggest you write to Ed Jorgensen, 1336 Birchwood Avenue, Roslyn, PA 19001 Tel: (215) 884-1007. You can tell him that Everett Schrader referred you to him. Good luck. Ed has a lot of info on the ship and spent a long pweriod aboard.

MY father was on the Lee Fox somewhere between her commissioning in 1943 and 1945. He was Lt.j.g. William G. Norwood, from Savannah, Ga. Due to circumstances, I never had the opportunity to talk with him regarding the war, his experiences or duties. I am his son and was born in 1950. My father passed away in a VA hospital in 1977. I would like to hear from someone that possibly knew him or was on the ship at the same time and would have had the same experiences. I was Navy from 1969 to 1975, active duty was at Inshore Undersea Warfare Group 2 (IUWG2 MU23) Little Creek, Va. Thanks.
