"I was not a plankowner but joined the crew in April 1944, shortly after commissioning, and served as a Yeoman 1st Class and was the staff yeoman for the Commander of Escort Division 59 until she was put in mothballs at Green Cove Springs, FL., in the spring of 1946.  I served also aboard USS Daniel DE 335 and USS Dale W. Peterson DE 337."
