USS Dennis DE 405 Crewmember Killed In Action

USS DENNIS DE 405 Crewmember Killed In Action
in the Battle Off Samar, the Battle of Leyte Gulf, 25 October 1944

Some Gave All

Webmaster Note: After much sincere thought, I made the decision to show this photograph.  Some may think this photograph inappropriate for publication.  I believe that those of us who were not there cannot fully realize the horrors of war and the specific horrors for the crew of DE 405.  We must realize the tragedy of these events and this photograph says more than any words could ever say.  It is through this type photograph that we see the unimaginable consequences of combat and the sacrifices made for us.  I hope this photograph instills in you, as it did in me, the dedication to never forget the sacrifices and to keep alive the history of DE sailors.
