The Auxiliary holds three meetings each year - Officer's Board meeting; an Annual Meeting for all the ladies (members or not); and an Executive Meeting with the Board to elect the officers and directors for the following year.

Auxiliary raffles are a primary source of fundraising for the group. At the annual DESA convention, the "Pot of Gold" raffle is held. A cash prize is awarded to the winners. Other raffles and fundraisers allow the Auxiliary to donate money to various organizations including DESA, DEHM - USS Slater DE 766.  Also, Auxiliary members nominate the VA Hospital in their area and four hospitals are selected by drawing. Each of the four hospitals receive a donation to be used for the needs of their Veterans.

At the annual DESA convention, the Auxiliary operates a Ladies' Ship's Store that offers DE related merchandise as well as other great gift items and crafts. Also, a luncheon is hosted during the convention.

Another project of the Auxiliary is remembering the sick and families of deceased Auxiliary and DESA members with a thoughtful card.
